Meet our Bar Manager Brant Porter
At the age of 11, Brant started his career at the family’s Thai restaurant and fell in love with the restaurant industry. He bussed tables and washed dishes until he was old enough to jump behind the bar, where he found his real passion. He engrossed himself with everything he could read and experience about spirits, beer, wine and bartending. Later, Brant managed the bar programs at Pizzeria Prima Strada and Little Jumbo. His eagerness for evolution and progression eventually earned him the role of Bar Manager at the newly renovated Veneto. He now leads a young team that is continually pushing the envelope of cocktail culture in Victoria.
Meet our Sommelier Erin Maher
To Erin Maher, at the end of the day there are only two types of wine: the kind you like and the kind you don’t. Ensuring that wine is not a snobby affair, she presents a wine list that is creative, engaging and non-pretentious. Before she came to Veneto, Erin built her experience at Camille’s Fine Westcoast Dining and Nourish Kitchen & Cafe. She holds a Wine and Spirit Education Trust Level 3 Award in Wines, Court of Master Sommelier Level 1, French Wine Scholar, Italian Wine Scholar and Champagne Masters. Erin takes her time to choose natural, organic, or biodynamic bottles from those who work with the earth instead of against it.
